It’s about time!

Day

Journal

Hard to believe it’s been over 5 months since I last wrote.  I was holding out until I returned from my vacation.  I knew there would be lots of pictures, and even a movie or two out of the deal.

I got to spend 12 days in California, getting to catch-up on my tan, visiting friends, seeing the sights, and spending time with daddy.  While I missed Mommy and Justin a lot, I really had a good time.  In the 12 days, I saw:

  • 5 Padres games
  • 5 days at Disneyland
  • 4 ‘dates’ with my silly sister.
  • 3 days at the San Diego Zoo
  • 3 days at Sea World
  • 1 day at the Wild Animal Park
  • 1 family reunion

Daddy promises me the math works.  In all, I have over 8 hours of video to go through, and nearly 1,200 pictures.  I was a smiling fool.

More next month after we make another trip to San Diego.  I can’t wait.

My first day at the zoo, I got to meet a peacock up close.  There were many all over the zoo, and they soon became a favorite.  We even saw babies, which I wanted to take home to Mommy.  Unfortunately, Daddy and I reached the conclusion that she wouldn’t appreciate it.Ž

Ü To say thanks to Mommy for letting me go, I thought about getting her some new shoes.  Again, we decided it was not in our best interest.

They have exotic chickens running around all over the place.  Made me wonder about the nuggets I just had for lunch – excess supply or slow learners?  Remind me to pass on the fish sticks at Sea World.Ž

Ü Capped the first day off by seeing my favorite Padres.  Unfortunately, both the Padres and I were done by the 4th inning.  At least I had jet lag as an excuse.

Day Two started with a long walk through the jungle at the Wild Animal Park.  We saw lots of animals up close. Ž

Ü Two of my favorites.  ROAR!Ž

Ü Spiritual time meditating with a Water Monitor.

Quality time with many of my deer friends.  Ž

Ü After time with my animal friends, I threw about a bazillion rocks into the ocean.

I really could get used to spending more time here.  Unfortunately, it was time to go to dinner.  Ž

Ü Daddy indoctrinated me into some sort of cult, where generations of Courtney’s have gone to worship.  While the chips weren’t too bad, the baptism in salsa was a bit over the top.

However, dinner gets three thumbs up.  I’m hooked. Consider me a big fan of Father Tony and the Church of the Immaculate Quesadilla.Ž

Ü The day wasn’t over yet – We surprised silly sister at the malt shop.

Day three started with a bang – Breakfast with a WHALE!.Ž

Ü It soon became a little obvious that concentrating on breakfast would be hard.  This was a wonderful way to start the day! Ž

Ü Day 3 ended with great seats at a great game.  Padres 7 – Cardinals 1 (I had pizza and a pretzel) Ž

Ü Day 4 we started at Sea World (day 2)…...

  With Polar Bears

And Beluga Whales Ž

Ü I got to feed some dolphins…

And watch some otters play Ž

Ü That night, I became Nacho Libre’s sidekick, Booger Libre.  Unfortunately, the Padres got robbed today.

Sunday (day 5) started at the zoo (day 2).  I had to get up on my toes to see these guys in the eye. Ž

Ü This episode of Grant Courtney’s Wild Kingdom included a view into the life of the leopard.

And the lion (did I mention, ROAR!). Ž

Ü Day 6 – Back to Sea World (day 3) for a view of sharks…

And feeding Sea Lions Ž

Ü Pretending I’m a flamingo…

Having fun waiting for Shamu’s new show Ž

Ü More Padres fun with Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa.  The Padres had a very good weekend for me. Ž

Ü The next day, I took Grandma and Grandpa to the zoo.  I showed her Tigers (ROAR!)…

And we all looked at the Lemurs. Ž

Ü However, both the elephants

And the hippos were missing.. Ž

Ü We did see Pandas

And the Alaska Brown Bear. Ž

Ü Here, elephant, elephant, elephant ?!?!?

Some help I enlisted in the search for the missing elephants….  He didn’t help much.. Ž

Ü We met a baby anteater along the way.

He wasn’t made into shoes yet, nor did he know where the elephant was. Ž

Ü The armadillo was too shy to assist. Ž

The search would continue…..

However, Daddy and I have to leave for Disneyland.
